Jacksonville is a great place for those who enjoy an active lifestyle. Runners flock to the City for unique and professionally produced races. The Marine Corps Half Marathon is an event where participants can run alongside active-duty Marines aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. Other races in support of our heroes include the Running with the Law 5K (late July) and the Beat the Bridge Run in the fall.

Challenge yourself with the New River Splash Triathlon, Duathlon, or 5K. The race starts and ends in downtown Jacksonville. The swim portion is in the New River, cycling through MCB Camp Lejeune and running through downtown.

The Jacksonville Commons Recreation Complex is home to many annual sporting tournaments and events. Team sporting events include the Jacksonville Jamboree Softball and Basketball Tournaments (May), the Annual Disc Golf Classic (November), as well the annual Pickleball Tournament (March) which draws participants and audiences from across the State and beyond.

If you enjoy a good fight attend the annual Freedom Fight in conjunction with the All-Marine Boxing Alumni and sanctioned by USA Boxing, Inc., Boxers from outside North Carolina will compete against local talent creating an exciting night you won't want to miss.

The Jacksonville-Onslow Sports Commission continuously works to bring quality sporting events to the area. Check out more upcoming events, tournaments, and races at playjosc.com.

Whether you are participating in a sporting event or coming to cheer on your favorite athlete, all are welcome to join the fun.
